I’m Kelsy! I am a documentary photographer and a mom to 4 kids ages 4-13, which is why I am so insistent about capturing families as they are. I know first hand how unfairly fast childhood flies by. If you look at your incredible kids and get panicky at how fast they’re growing up - I’m right there with you. It’s a thought I have daily when I’m with my kids.
It’s ok if your house, your yard, your life doesn’t look “Pinterest or Instagram Perfect”. It’s perfect because it’s yours.
I want to create moments for you that you can feel, to remember this season of life as it is. Sometimes we can get stuck in the exhaustion of it all, we forget to slow down and look at the beauty in parenthood.

Founded in 2015 by Kelsy Mellema, KMellema Photography has grown from a small passion project into a thriving business in Grand Rapids known for its real life, everyday documentary photography sessions.

Haze Studio | Est. 2023
Haze Studio was born out of Kelsy’s dream to share her love of photography with her community. Haze Studio is a versatile photography studio located in the heart of Grandville, Michigan.
The studio offers a space for photographers to spread their wings without being roped into daunting overhead costs. There is a thriving community at the studio for photographers who may feel alone in this business.
In 2026, Haze Studio was sold, and is now called The ANS Collective. Kelsy highly recommends this studio to any area photographer who is in need of a space to take clients, or a community that feels like home.
